Unspeakable

No, this is not an outrage post. It's a facts of life post.

As a priest, I must confess to having a bawdy sense of humor. Face it, there is 18 years of pre-Christian programming working against the Christian Faith in my heart and mind. So, sometimes I will be talking with someone and get a far away look in my eyes. I left the conversation to file away something that would be very funny and completely inappropriate. Yep, it's not all wisdom and levitation when dealing with me.

At any rate, there are so many jokes that pass in my conversations that I would love to share here, but I can't. I am telling you all this so that when you see my skirt the line of good taste, you know why my good-taste-o-meter is a bit wonky. And then, you need to be thankful because the original idea was much worse.

Give you a for instance. Yesterday, after physical therapy, I went over to visit with my sister. We were sitting in the cafe and discussing someone who mutually made us crazy. The joke that came forth had to do with the unity of the Church and the analogy of the body. The punch line was, "Don't look so glum. Somebody has to do that." My sister's in medicine and therefore the joke was all the better because we use the technical names rather than the common vulgar names.

You see now. I would love to share that with you. I would love for you to be able to use the real wisdom that is hidden the joke for the sake of your Christian journey (and yes, there was a valid spiritual point to be raised) but I can't. You'll just have to speculate.

Okay, that's probably all for me today. I might crack out something else, but I am behind on about six or seven projects. Leave comments and I will get back with you.

I think that is one of the biggest blessings of siblings. Being able to share the crazy with someone who knows!

Peace.
