His 'Measure' Measures Up!

I am not trying to defend the guy as much as I am trying to defend my purchase of his CD. On the other hand, I guess it doesn't say much for my "discerning" tastes if I can be dragged along by the masses.

Pop phenoms are strange to my way of thinking. If a fellow has talent, then in theory, the only thing you should have to do is make the album, put the name out there, let people get a little taste via radio et al., and then watch the albums fly off the shelf. If that scenario is true, then articles about the pop star is only necessary when the next album comes out. Yet, I don't think Mr. Aiken is slated for a new album so soon.

Am I being hopelessly naive?
